Double Short TIPS ETF

The ProShares Ultra Short TIPS ETF (TPS) is a double (2x) short US Treasury Inflation Protected Securities ETF, whose mission is to deliver double (2x) the daily inverse (negative) performance of the Barclays Capital U.S. Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS) Index (Series-L), before fees, expenses, and interest income. The (TPS) ETF may be suitable for investors who generally have a negative view on treasury bonds, meaning that they think that treasury bond prices will go down, and that inflation may not be high going forward.

Because the TPS ETF is a leveraged ETF, it uses financial instruments in order to magnify its daily double inverse returns of its underlying index. It is important to note that over longer periods of time extending for more than one day, the TPS double short TIPS ETF may exhibit significant tracking error that may be material. Leveraged ETFS in general are designed to be held for very short periods of time.
